The Eighteenth Convocation of the International Theravada Buddhist Missionary University for the Academic Year 2018-2019 held at the International Theravada Buddhist Missionary University, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture

The Eighteenth Convocation for the Academic Year 2018-2019 was held at the International Theravada Buddhist Missionary University, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture, at 1:00 pm on 14 June, 2019. The ceremony was attended by the members of samgha headed by the most Venerable Bhamo  Sayadawgyi, Dr. Bhaddanta Kumarabhivamsa, the Chairman of the State Samghamahanayaka Committee. At the ceremony, H.E. U Kyi Min, the Deputy Union Minister  for Religious Affairs and Culture, delivered the congratulatory welcome speech.

Then Pro-Rector Sayadaw on behalf of Rector Sayadaw Aggamahapandita, Aggamahaganthavacakapandita, Dr Bhaddanta Candavarabhivamsa, of the International Theravada Buddhist Missionary University, conferred the Doctorate and insignia on (6) students including 3 monks, 3 nuns, for the Academic year 2017-2018. The Pro-Rector Sayadaw also conferred the Master Degree on (14) students comprising (6) monks, (5) nuns, and (3) ladies for the Academic year 2017-2018; and the Bachelor Degree on (43) students consisting of (22)monks, (15) nuns, (3) gentleman, and (3) ladies for the Academic year 2018-2019. After that, the most venerable Pro-Rector Sayadaw delivered an ovadakatha, the admonitory words.

The International Theravada Buddhist Missionary University was inaugurated on 9 December 1998, and students from (14) foreign countries and also local students consisting of monks, gentlemen, nuns and ladies are studying at the ITBM University. The University has produced (32) Doctorates in PhD (BDh), (203) Postgraduates in MA (BDh), (746) Graduates in BA (BDh) and (1128) Diploma graduates. It is learnt that, in the current academic year 2019-2020, (326) local and foreign students of monks, gentlemen, nuns and ladies are studying at the ITBM University.
